THE SUFFOLK FALCONS FLYING SITE RULES AS OF 2023 NON FRIA DESIGNATED
(SEE AIRSPACE AUTHORIZATION BELLOW)
1.Our field may be used only by Suffolk Falcon members and their guests. Valid AMA membership is required. No open alcoholic beverages at the flying site.
Airspace Authorization provisions apply. All pilots must contact FOK FCT at
(631) 288- 2024 at least 15 minutes prior to proposed start time and upon
completion of operations. (see provisions below)
2.All pilots and models must meet and abide by AMA safety and flying regulations. Due to the altitude restriction and the potential fire hazard to the area surrounding our site, no models of any configuration will be allowed to use our facility if they weigh in excess of 45 pounds ready for take off, if they are powered by any form of Gas Turbine engine .
3. While it is true the vast majority of Falcons members use ‘Spread Spectrum” RC equipment, there are no restrictions against the use of older PCM or FM radios other than prior to turning on that type of transmitter for any reason, a pin clearly displaying the pilot’s name must be placed in the appropriate channel number location on the frequency board. It is “Your Responsibility” to make sure there is no conflict between channels. Spread spectrum users shall place a pin in the designated location on the board to indicate transmitter operation in this frequency band.
4.Painted stones are provided as pilot positions between the pit area and the active runway. No more than four pilots to be operating their models either in the air, or away from the benches at any one time. Special Note: More than four models may be operated at the same time only under certain limited circumstances, and only with the approval of the “Safety Coordinator” or his designee.
5. If necessary, and only after making your intentions know to those actually flying, a pilot may walk onto a runway for takeoff, but he must leave the runway as soon as practical. After takeoff, all initial turns must be made to the west.
6. Upon being advised of anyone on the field, pilots are to avoid flying a model over that person’s head at any altitude. It is suggested you fly over another part of the field and enter a comfortable holding pattern until the field is clear.
7. Unless you’re in the process of actually taking off, landing, or in taxi, all model flying is to be conducted between the tree lines on the East and West sides of the field except within the “No-Fly-Zone” over the active pilot stations, pits, spectator and parking areas. Using the airspace behind the parking area to the east under 200 feet (agl) to avoid a conflict is permitted.
8. Pilots are required to call out their intentions before taking off, landing, flying touch & goes etc, or after experiencing any difficulty such as control problems or dead stick. Walking onto the runways after advising active pilots and making sure you do not conflict with operating models is permitted.
9. Absolutely no flying above 200 feet (AGL) above ground level, no starting engines on the runway.
10. No matter what type of radio, all basic flight training and demo flights for non-pilots will be conducted using a Buddy-Box which is incapable of transmitting on it’s own (battery or crystal removed, On/Off switch taped in off position).
11. Members will serve as hosts for their invited guests. Members are responsible for the actions of their guests, and to make sure their guests are aware of, and fully understand all the above rules and the restrictions of the No-Fly Zone. Guests must remain on the East side of the benches unless participating in flight operations.
12. No open fires unless contained within an attended propane or charcoal barbecue. Remove all litter prior to leaving, last member to leave must lock the gate.

CBO-FIX, July 24, 2023 SPECIAL PROVISIONS
As of December 11, 2023 the FAA has Authorized the Suffolk Falcons to operate unmanned aircraft in the National Airspace System without broadcasting RID information, subject to the following conditions.
PURPOSE: To establish responsibilities and procedures for use of AMA – The Suffolk Falcons, #698 Fixed Site operational area.
1. CONTACT INFORMATION:
a. Stephen Garofolo is the person designated as responsible for the overall safety of
UAS operations under this AA. During UAS operations for on-site
communication/recall, the Responsible Person shall be continuously available for
direct contact at (631) 647-0198 by FOK FCT or designated representative.
b. The Responsible Person listed on this AA must maintain a current list of pilots by
name and the aircraft registration number(s) associated with the AA holder’s
operation. This list must be presented for inspection upon request from the
Administrator or an authorized representative.
2. SCHEDULE OF FLIGHT OPERATIONS:
a. Thirty (30) days from signature on page 1 of this AA, this AA cancels and replaces in its entirety the Letter of Agreement between FOK FCT and AMA – The Suffolk
Falcons, #698 that became effective on December 28, 2021.
b. This AA and the Special Provisions shall be in effect between civil sunrise and civil
sunset local time, unless operating in accordance with the AC 91-57C while operating at night.
c. No person may operate an unmanned aircraft in prohibited or restricted areas unless
that person has permission from the using or controlling agency, as appropriate. FAA JO 7400.10 lists agencies scheduling Special Use Airspace (SUA).
d. This Authorization does not relieve the recreational flyer from the responsibility to
check the airspace they are operating in and comply with all restrictions that may be present in accordance with Section 44809, such as restricted and Prohibited Airspace, Temporary Flight Restrictions, etc.
e. The recreational flyer must operate the aircraft in a manner that does not interfere
with and. gives way to any manned aircraft.
f. AMA – The Suffolk Falcons, #698 must contact FOK FCT at (631) 288-2024 at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to proposed start time and upon completion of operations.
g. FOK FCT or designated representative may disapprove, terminate, restrict, or delay UAS flight operations covered by this AA at any time.

CBO-FIX, July 24, 2023 3. EMERGENCY/ LOST LINK/LOST COMMUNICATIONS PROCEDURES:
a. If the UAS loses communications or loses its Global Positioning Signal (GPS), the
Unmanned Aircraft (UA) must return to a pre-determined location within the
operating area and land. Lost link procedures must not present an undue hazard to
other aircraft by performing such maneuvers as crossing a runway.
b. The Pilot in Command must abort the flight in the event of unpredicted obstacles or
emergencies.
c. AMA – The Suffolk Falcons, #698 must immediately notify FOK FCT at (631) 288-2024 in the event of a lost link, fly-away or operational area spill-out that may affect manned aircraft operations and provide the following:
(a) Location of aircraft
(b) Size of aircraft (weight, length, width)
(c) Direction of Flight
(d) Altitude
4. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
a. AMA – The Suffolk Falcons, #698 must ensure all members and guest pilots are
familiar and comply with the procedures in this agreement.
b. AMA – The Suffolk Falcons, #698 must be responsible for all signage located at the
AMA – The Suffolk Falcons, #698 approved operational area.
c. AMA – The Suffolk Falcons, #698 must ensure that FOK FCT has current officer
contact, address, and phone number information.
d. All operations must be contained within the operational area and conform to all
current federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
AUTHORIZATION: This AA does not, in itself, waive any Code of Federal Regulations(CFRs) not specifically stated, nor any state law or local ordinance. Should the proposed operation conflict with any state law or local ordinance, or require permission of local authorities or property owners, it is the responsibility of the Proponent to resolve the matter. This AA does not authorize flight within Temporary Flight Restrictions, Special Flight Rule Areas, regulatory Special Use Airspace, or the Washington DC Federal Restricted Zone (FRZ) without preapproval. The Proponent is hereby authorized to operate UA in the NAS within the areas defined in the Operations Authorized section of the cover page.
